I googled nice restaurants in the northern quarter and we picked this one. I’m glad we did.
The restaurant is quaint with only 6 tables but it is... read more decorated really nice with all the fresh ingredients and sauces out for you to see. The kitchen is also open plan so you can see the chefs cooking your food if you wish to.
The waitress was on the ball with getting us a seat even though it was a Saturday evening and we hadn’t booked, she took our drinks order which came over quickly and food order wasn’t far behind.
We shared some Thai Prawn Crackers to start with, these were very tasty and the portion was more than enough to share. We also asked for extra sweet chilli sauce with these and no additional charge was put on the bill (I love the little things!)
My boyfriend ordered crispy chilli chicken with egg fried rice. And I ordered a chicken noodle salad (it had a Thai name but I cannot remember it ☺️). All the food was lovely, so many different flavours and spices. The chicken was cooked perfectly and you can taste that all the ingredients are fresh. The portions were massive, I had to bring half mine home!
Soft drinks come in bottles/cans and are only £1.50, which for its location is a fair price. The beer options were limited but they had lager and IPA’s.
The restaurant was clean, and the waitress was following all COVID-19 policies, cleaning tables, sides and door handles after people had left etc. There is only one toilet cubicle for the whole restaurant but it is very clean and well presented. One may not sound like a lot but the restaurant capacity isn’t massive.
The prices are definitely fair, and worth it for the food quality. Main dishes average at £11 each with rice or noodles. We also noticed on the way out that they do a lunch menu for £7, 11am - 3pm! We’ll definitely be returning to take advantage of this.

All food was stale.
I ordered "crispy chicken" which consisted of 5 balls of batter with close to non chicken inside. There must've been about 25gr chicken altogether and it... read more tasted old and dry. Thai fish cakes were very salty and very fishy - went in the bin.
Ribs had almost no meat on them and again very stale. I get they are called "dry ribs" i think this has to be taken very literally.
My partner had sweet and sour chicken. Portion was good size but again - he said it tasted bland. We had pork dumplings which we also didn't like.
All in all - we were left hungry and disappointed. Worst food I have had in more than a year
